this unwilling carer loses track of time due to a combination of menopausal brain fog and falling down YouTube rabbit holes. Then suddenly hears his doorbell chime. Went downstairs to check and he very quietly and subdued asks if he may please have a sandwich. You look at the clock and it is 6:30pm. His preferred daily time for a sandwich is 5pm. Oops!


I had to exit the lounge swiftly as I wanted to smile, mainly at myself for being so forgetful but also at his demeanour. How different it is now that his energy is dwindling fast. Even six months ago he would have absolutely blasted me out of the door with his loud venomous rage! Tonight, he whimpered. 'Times they are a-changin'.
